Pediatric Dentistry

Having pleasant experiences with the dentist as a child can be the best way to ensure properly cared for teeth later on in life. Dr. Grieger and the McCormick dental team will get to know you and your child by reviewing a health history of your child. We also like to take a picture of them at their first visit. Depending on their age and comfort level, we may: clean their teeth, do a one minute fluoride treatment and take the necessary dental x-rays.

Many children learn their best oral hygiene habits from our dentists, including:

    * Brushing
    * Flossing
    * Feeling comfortable in a dentist's office
    * How to avoid tooth decay
    * Facts and information in a way that is understandable for children

From infancy through the teenage years, pediatric dentistry focuses not only on proper oral hygiene habits, but on dental issues specific to children. Tooth decay is a chronic disease that is the most common among children - five times more common than asthma.

Your child's first birthday is usually the first time they should be brought in to see our dentists. We look forward to seeing you!
